in a colourful coronation ceremony presided over by GFF President Lamin Kaba Bajo at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama.

It was a full house as the Faraba-based outfit held their nerve to record a 4-2 penalty shootout victory over AJ Soccer FC following a nail-biting 1-1 draw in regular time. Baalor Sarr started the game brightly, dominating play and creating chances, but struggled in the final third. AJ Soccer grew into the game and finished the first half strongly.

The second was even more electric as fans were treated to a mouth-watering contest. AJ Soccer first broke the deadlock with a clever finish from Suwaibou Camara in the 54th minute, but substitute David Jarju’s 70th-minute header restored parity for Baalor Sarr, as both sides settled for a 1-1 stalemate at full time. Baalor Sarr went on to win 4-2 on penalties to claim their first major title.

As champions, Baalor Sarr FC was awarded a giant trophy, gold medals, and a cheque for Five Hundred Thousand Dalasis.

As runners-up, AJ Soccer FC went home with silver medals and a cheque for Three Hundred Thousand Dalasis, while the semi-finalists, Gambia Ports Authority and Steve Biko, received a Hundred Thousand Dalasis each.
