OUR LEGENDS CORNER: Abdoulie Kenny Mansally

Abdoulie Kenny Mansally is a born Gambian professional football player. He was born on 29th January 1989, and plays as a forward/wing back and winger and a left footer. He began his senior footballing career in the Gambia after graduating from the youth academy of Real de Banjul and playing in the top tier of the Gambia football federation league.

Ken Mansally played with the Banjul Based club the all whites REAL DE BANJUL during the 2006/2007 first division league. He helped the club to win the league that season. He went on to represent the national under 20 team in the FIFA U20 World cup, thereafter he ventured beyond the waters of the Gambia to join the MLS league.

He joined New England Revolution in 2007 after been scouted by  head coach Steve Nicol while playing in the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup, and went on to signed with the Revolution shortly after along with his Gambian teammate, Sainey Nyassi. Ken joined the club in 2007 and stayed with the club till 2012. He made 89 appearances with the club and scored 7 goals for his club. Mansally was waived by New England on 4 May 2012

June 20, 2012 saw him switch allegiance to Real Salt Lake FC in the MLS league after having trials at DC United and Real Salt Lake fc . He moved to Real Salt Lake on a €150,000 deal. He spent 3 years with the club and making 49 appearances therein and scoring only once for the club.

Mansally was traded to Houston Dynamo FC ahead of the 2016 season. He went on to represent the club in 9 games without scoring a goal. his spell there was brief as he was loaned to Rio Grande Valley FC known as  RGVFC Toros. Unfortunately he manage only a single appearance for RGVFC club..

In 2017 he was on the move again, this time joining a Finnish side Kemi City FC plying in the third level of Finnish football on a €300,000 deal . Ken Mansally made 29 games appearances and scoring 6 times for his club.

In February 2018, Ken Mansally joined top flight Finnish side FC Inter Turku on a €200,000 deal, he played 20 games there and scored 2 goals for his club before returning to the US.

On Feb 12, 2019, Ken Mansally joined USL Championship club Charlotte Independence on a €200,000 deal. He went on to represent the club in 29 games and scoring twice therein. He was waived by the club on Dec 1, 2019 and has been without a club since.

Mansally received his first call-up for the Gambia National Football Team during qualifying for the 2010 World Cup,and was an unused substitute in the home and away matches against Liberia. He earned his first cap for his country coming off the bench in a qualifier against Algeria.

In 2005 he represent the country with the U17 squad and went on to appear 3 more times for the U17 and scored only once. In 2007 he represented the U20 side and made 4 more appearance for the U20. In 2008 he made a break through with the senior squad and made 15 more appearances for the senior squad. He is a one time Finnish CUP winner.
