Following rumors that Al Ahly is set to sign Gambia’s Ali Sowe, CSKA Sofia released a statement, ruling out January exit for their forward.
Cairo giants Al Ahly are reportedly interested in CSKA Sofia forward Ali Sowe as they want to bolster their attacking options.
Sowe is one of the many names that have been linked with Al Ahly this winter, with French striker Harlem Gnohere being the last out of them.
The 25-year-old has eight goals to his name in 18 Bulgarian league games this season, which takes his tally to 25 goals in 55 games across all competitions since his arrival in September 2018.
His performances attracted the attention of Al Ahly, however, CSKA Sofia have no plans to sell the striker halfway through the season.
“The truth is that so far we have received three very attractive offers for Ali Sowe,” A statement on the Bulgrain’s club website read.
“The interest raised from foreign clubs is very logical and expected, but the management of CSKA Sofia doesn’t have any plans of selling the striker at any cost.
“Ali Sowe is a very important player for our team and we rely on him to achieve our goals this season,” the statement added.
The Reds will now have to switch their attention to a new forward, with Aliou Badji, Guy Mbenza, and Harlem Gnohere being linked with a move to the Cairo giants.
