Six months ago, AC Horsen invited Gambian James Gomez for trial training, and he made a good impression on Langmarksvej.
He trained for a couple of weeks and was also on the pitch in a reserve league match against SønderjyskE, and “the yellow” have now chosen to hire James Gomez from Real de Banjul until the summer of 2020.
18-year-old James Gomez is part of the U23 national team for the Gambia, and manager Bo Henriksen is looking forward to seeing even more from the young center defender.
James Gomez made a good impression when he trained with us, but we couldn’t make an appointment with him at the time when he was only 17 years old. It is somewhat reminiscent of the case with Bubacarr Sanneh, where we could see the potential and hire him with the option of purchase, but we do not expect James Gomez to break through from day one. He needs time to develop, and now we have the opportunity to see him in our environment for the next six months, ”says Bo Henriksen.
It is possible to see James Gomez in action on Tuesday, January 21 at 5 pm when AC Horsens takes on Aarhus Forward.
