Manchester City forward and Brazil international Gabriel Jesus has heaped praise on Mohamed Salah, hailing the Liverpool winger as a ‘quality’ player.
Liverpool are currently top of the Premier League table with 34 points in 12 games played, nine points clear of rivals Manchester City.
Mohamed Salah recently went head-to-head with Gabriel Jesus during Liverpool’s 3-1 win against Manchester City two weeks ago.
Fabinho opened the scoring for the Reds as Salah doubled their lead in the first half and a goal from Mane gave Liverpool all three points at Anfield.
esus has now praised Salah, but claims that Manchester City’s title hopes are not over despite a nine-point gap between them and Liveprool.
“Salah has shown his quality in the last two seasons, he has scored a lot,” Jesus told National Sport. “I don’t train with him, but I know he is quality.
“I think its still early for me to say anything about this [City’s title hopes being over], the season has only just begun.
“Of course, [Liverpool] are playing well, we know this, but we haven’t played like we know we can. We can play like we did last season and win the title again,” he added.
Salah has already netted nine goals and assisted another five in all competitions so far this season.
The 27-year-old recently sustained another ankle injury, withdrawing from Egypt’s recent games against Kenya and Comoros in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers.
