The Banjul Sports Committe (BSC) in colloburations with Team Yankee and Joluv Arts on Saturday 16 November, orgarnise its maiden Banjul Nawettan Awards Night in an historic ceremony held at the Athletic Hotel.
Yunusa Sowe of Late Ebou Sowe/Heart of Banjul scoop the Best Players Award, the young talented footballer won himself lot of fans and admirers with his close ball control during the 2019 Banjul Nawettan.
The Young Promising Player’s Tittle went to Macdonald United’s young prodigy Alieu Badara Jack who beat Dembo Bojang of FC Warriors and Ali Fall of Ajax FC to the award.
Pa Ebou Dampha alias Lopez of Warriors got the Golden Glove/Best Players ahead of rivals Imran Kalokoh and Sulayman Nyang of Heart of Banjul and Ngoyan respectively.
Pa Faal of Late Ebou Sowe cap off his impressive goalscoring exploits with the Leading Goal Scorer’s Award, his teammate Ousainou Trawally won the Best Defender’s Tittle beating Ousman Badjie and Malick Ceesay of Ajax and Jamesen respectively to the Tittle.
Meanwhile Coach Kebba Senghore of FC Warriors won the Best Coach of the Nawettan as he help his team won the League Trophy. He was battling it out with Knockout Winner Babucarr Camera alias Jah Boy and double semi finalist Yusupha Drammeh of Jamesen. Abdullah Jammeh beat his colleagues Modou Bah and Ali Jallow to the Best Referee’s Award while the Late Saidou and Malick FC (Tesito) were given the Most Discipline Team’s Award ahead of Revelation and London City FC.
Elsewhere Certificates were also awarded to outstanding Individuals and Companies who according to BSC contributed immensely to the success of the Nawettan and Award Night. The night witness by football lovers across the City was characterise with performance by various Gambian Artists. The event according to the orgarnises is the first of many as they promised to make it an annual event.
