Super Nawettan: Brikama levied D30,000 fine plus One year Home Match Ban.

Super Nawettan: Brikama levied D30,000 fine plus One year Home Match Ban.

In a letter dispatched to teams, the Super Nawettan Organising committee through its disciplinary Committee on Monday 11th November, 2019 has fined Brikama D30,000 (thirty thousand dalasi) due on or before Wednesday 13th November, 2019, in addition to a Ban from playing all their home games at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama for One year.

The letter stated “We write to inform you of the outcome of the Super Nawettan Organising committee in the game Brikama Vs Kombo East played on Friday 8th November, 2019 in Brikama that erupted into trouble and eventually abandonment of the game”.

“Having gone through the reports of the match officials, your fans were totally out of control when Brikama scored a goal and later been ruled for offside thereby causing your fans to over react by throwing stones, water bottles and other harmful objects. Thus the game was brought into disrepute which also resulted to the discontinuing of the match even though the referee attempted to continue the game”.

The letter continued, “This action is considered unsporting and a gross violation of the rules and regulations of the Super Nawettan tournament and football in general…”

Meanwhile, Brikama is strictly warned to adhere to the rules and regulations of the Super Nawettan tournament and advocate “violence free” to their fans, players and supporters/followers.

The Committee hope that as Brikama is known for its trailblazers in Community football, they should not be a patron to hooliganism and violent conduct in this beautiful game.
