Ghana’s U-23 national team head coach Ibrahim Tanko has said that his side want to win against Egypt in the U-23 AFCON on Monday.
The Black Stars had a slow start to the U-23 AFCON as they dropped two points in a 1-1 draw against Cameroon in their opening game.
On the other hand, Egypt managed to top the group following a 1-0 win against Mali in their first game of the tournament.
Speaking ahead of their encounter, Ghana’s head coach Ibrahim Tanko said that his team is ready while praising Egypt’s captain Ramadan Sobhi.
“It will be a tough game on Monday,” said Tanko. “I am sure that both teams are ready for the game.
“Egypt are a very good team and Ramadan Sobhi is one of their best players, but we are not just playing against him.
“We want to win against Egypt and we will not play just to get a draw out of the game.
“We have watched Egypt play in order to identify their strengths and weaknesses. In the end, it comes down to the way my team performs on the pitch,” Tanko added.
