Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech has added to his ever-growing list of sublime Champions League goals by scoring an absolute screamer against Valencia on Wednesday night.
The 26-year-old let rip from 30 yards In the club’s Champions League Group H tie at The Mestalla, leaving experienced goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen with absolutely no chance in between the sticks.
Just take a look at this strike. The dip. The swerve. It is just majestic from the former FC Twente player.
Ziyech, who was strongly linked with a move away from Erik ten Hag’s side in the summer, is proving his quality again in Europe’s biggest competition after an incredible campaign in 2018/19.
The Moroccan was selected as one of the 20 best players in last season’s Champions League competition.
He also picked up the Dutch footballer of the year award after scoring nine goals in 34 games last campaign, as well as assisting 14 times.
It makes you think, why didn’t a big club spend big on Ziyech this summer? He clearly has the talent.
