ALFAMA RISE ABOVE CONG-BI

Alfama’s Lamin Kujabi and Ensa Gitteh scored from either half of the game to help the Sancheba base side to record a comfortable 2-0 win against Cong-Bi.

Cong-Bi who were led by Capital FM Sports Network and Global Sports anchor, Journalist Amadou Tamba started the encounter as brighter between the two teams. But their dominance could not last long. Former Chimo FC and Gamtel/Gamcel diminutive midfielder Sheikh Tijan Gibba controlled and dictated the proceedings in midfield with his intelligent short passes and accurate long range passes.

Alfama FC broke the deadlock in the 15th minute of the contest when their midfield maestro, Lamin Kujabi overlapped and connected Lamin Suso’s cross into the bottom corner of the goal post.

Ensa Gitteh, wrapped up the scoreline just four minutes into the second half. Sheikh Tijan, flipped a header to set his striker through on goal before Ensa beautifully put the ball beyond a rushing Cong-Bi goalie, Dawda Jarju.

Thus, the match ended 2-0 in favour of Alfama FC. Amadou Tamba and his Cong-Bi boys have a daunting task if they are to make it beyond the group stages. Former Champions Orlando Magic and Berewuleng await them next.
