A two day inter club football tournament organized and sponsored by Moobeta Foundation (A Belgian – Gambia base NGO) ended in Basse on Wednesday.
4 teams from Basse in Manju, Kansala, Manneh Kunda and Phoenix took part in the tournament with the theme ” Raising Youth Awareness against Irregular Migration”.
On day one of the tournament Phoenix lost to Kansala in penalty shootouts after a 2all draw whiles Kansala beat Manneh Kunda 1-0. On the final day Kansala overcome close town rivals Manju in a pulsating 1-0 win with Jaliba Camara’s fine strike on the hour mark.
The goal of the tournament is to reach to youths through sports to raise their awareness on the dangers of irregular migration and share opportunities.
