The FF CUP holders REAL DE BANJUL football Club added another trophy in the late Omar Sey Football Tournament following their 2-1 victory over MARIMOO Football Club. The final was played on Saturday the 6th of July 2019 at the only independence stadium in Bakau.
The tournament was organised by the Gambia Football Federation mainly for the first division clubs in respect to their late former leader. However, the final lives up to expectations as both sides puts up a brilliant performance Forward KAJALLY DRAMMEH’S deflected efforts from ALAGIE JAWARA’S cross to put Real de Banjul ahead barely 8 minutes in the game.
On the 33rd minutes, MARIMOO, responded positively, through YANKUBA JALLOW who took full advantage of an assist from ISMAILA CEESAY to restore parity for the MANJAI Boys ending the first half one apiece.
18 minutes after the break, Real de Banjul took the lead again, ALIEU DADARA FADERA slotting home the winner from close range. Real de Banjul and Marimoo football Club met three twice with real gaining a better result in their encounters.
The results, now mean that real de Banjul football club are the Champions of the Late Alhagie Omar Sey Football Tournament. It ended 2-1 in fevour real de Banjul football club.
