Wellingara started with a flier in a comfortable 2-0 win over Blue stars in their opener in the elimination games played on Monday at 5pm at the Box bar mini stadium in Brikama.
Despite blue stars losing to Wellingara, they started strong in the match most especially in their attacking force creating multiple opportunities but all went in vain as the first half ended goalless.
Upon resumption from the the break, Lamin Touray came close to opening the score line for Wellingara but blasted his effort over the cross bar after 57th minutes.
After that moments, Blues star found their pattern back in the Game asking a lot of questions to the defence line of Wellingara but the back four were equal to the task. On the 67th minutes, Musa Jatta break the deadlock with a fine finished for Wellingara.
Blue star, also came close to levelled the scores through Nfansu Njie with a superb free kick that hit the cross bar on the 72th minutes. However, with barely 11 minutes to the end, Lamin Touray seal the victory for Wellingara following his simple tap from close range thanks to a beautiful pass from Musa Jatta . As It ended 2-0 in favour of Wellingara .
