QUEEN SCORPIONS DRAWS AGAINST BISSAU FEMALE NATIONAL TEAM IN A FRIENDLY

The Gambia queen scorpions were held to one all draw by their female counter-parts Guinea Bissau in their first friendly at the independence stadium on Sunday 16th june 2019.

The Guinea bissau female began playing international football in 2006 after competing in two FIFA-recognised matches. they first faced Guinea in Guinea Bissau in 28 October 2006 which ended in a one all tie. Their second FIFA-recognised match was played on 12 November 2006 in Conakry, Which they lost to Guinea Conakry by 3 goals to 1. Their biggest defeat so far. The team’s FIFA world ranking since 2006 is 119th. Their highest-ever ranking is 92nd back in December 2009, and its lowest ranking is 144th back in December 2007. 

The queen scorpions drew the first blood through Adama Tamba in the 44th minutes with a superb finish after a lovely through pass which the two Bissau giant centre backs could not clear to safety . The all time goal scorer continue to stunt spectators with her sublime finishing touches for the Gambia female warriors.

Guinea Bissau Levelled the score-line through Tchalda Man after a scramble in front of the goal as the ball fell to her mercy and she buried it. Bissau were award a penalty in the dying minutes of the game. Tchalda Man Stepped-up to hit a brace but Mariama Ceesay denied her as she deflected her shot over the cross-bar.

The queen scorpions could have buried the Game beyond the reach of Bissau but were wasteful in front of goal. They were not clinical in the attacking third, thus squandering many chances.
