Saateba United and Check Point over the weekend battled it out at Madiana football filed on Saturday the 15th of June 2019. Knock-out champions Saateba United narrowly edge -out check point 1-0 in the long-awaited league final in Madiana Village.
The final was a very entertaining one as both sides put up a good performance of the night despite Check Point enjoying a lion share of ball possession. Baboucarr Sonko came close to giving Check point fc the lead with a shot that went inches wide after 27 minutes.
Saateba United found their feet later in match and mounted pressure on Check point’s back four which paid off at the struck of the 45 minutes of the first half through KANRIMU JOI with a fine finished before 2 minutes added time.
Outstanding Modou Bojang of Saateba United also came close in adding a second with a thunderous shot that went direct to the Goalkeeper at the 65th minutes. Moments Later, Saateba united turned their Game plan to a defensive set-up with the intention of adding a second trophy in 2018-19 season after clinching the knock -out cup against Dollars fc .
The final was grace by some important public figures including the chairman of super Nawettan organizing committee Lang Tombong Tamba. As winners, Saateba United went home with a trophy and cash of 10,000 dalasi whiles their closest challengers Check-Point fc bagged 8,000 dalasi as runners up.
