BRIKAMA UNITED TOPPLES LEAGUE LEADERS REAL DE BANJUL

Third placed Brikama United toppled league leaders in a contest to top the Gambia Football Federation league one table at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Sunday 26th May 2019 in the evening.

Real de banjul were hoping to consolidate their lead at the top of the league but the Satay Baa boys had different agenda as they topple the league leaders to go atop of the summit.

Coming into the game Real de banjul were topping the table with 39 points out of 23 games played while Brikama United were in third place with 37 points out of 23 games. A victory for Brikama united see them complete a double over Real de banjul this season.

Real had the first chance of the game in the 5th min as Fadera failed to hit the target from a incoming cross from the right, minuets later brikama had a chance also but Ebrima Badjie fires wide off the post. Into the half hour and there was nothing to separate the two sides as the keep cancelling out each others efforts, its was end to end stuff without troubling the keepers.

In the 35th minuets Modou Manneh alias Umtiti overlapped through the left channel of Brikama united attack and unleashed a powerful shot which RealDeBanjul shot stopper Ebrima Jarju parried away for a corner kick. they went to the with either side breaking the deadlock.

Game resumed and into the 62 mins and it was still evenly poised. Nothing much from both sides. The Deadlock was finally broken in the 69th mins as Momodou Bojang head in Modou Jadama in swing cross. Sainey Sambou’s introduction proofed to be a vital one as he started pulling the strings for brikama united’s attacking force.

It ended 1-0 in favour of the Satay baa boys ( Brikama United ). Real will be backing on wallidan fc to stop brikama united while the are to take on the ferry boys (GPA).
