WALLIDAN BACK TO WINNING WAYS AFTER TAKING IT UP TO GPA FC

Wallidan fc and GPA fc faced off on Friday 29th of March in a very competitive match at the banjul KG5 mini stadium. A match much anticipated by many football fans.

GPA FC came into the game with a win over marimo prior to the game while the City boys lost to Banjul utd in the banjul derby.

Both team where all prepped up in the opening minutes with the ball running end to end. It wasn’t until the seventh minute that the deadlock was broken by Sawo who open the scoring for Wallidan FC with a well taken effort out side the area.

Into the 12 minutes Okocha well taken free kick was well save by Papis, a few minutes later Ous Sillah couldn’t connect well with the ball and sent His shot some inches off the post.

Mbele makes it 2 for Wallidan fc into the 34th minutes, converted Pedro’s delivery into the net. Frustration began to creep into the GPA camp. The first period ended 2 nil in favor of Walidan fc.

After the interval period GPA came back with cool heads, enthusiasm and determination and thus pulling a goal back at the 56th minutes by Essa Colley A few minutes later Muhammad Kaba saw his well place header save by papis.

First substitution came in the 68 minutes, seeing Musa Cham in for Alieu Jammeh, GPA mounted the pressure in the dying minutes but to no avail as Walidan fc defenders proved hard nuts to crack. It ended 2:1 in favor of Walidan fc, a match well fought for.

The team has stepped up its standing with a resounding victory over one of the finest side the league.
