Goals from Momodou Salieu Jallow and Fallou Faal were all but enough for Waa Banjul to beat traveling Gunjur United 2-1. Waa Banjul clashed with Gunjur United was dubbed as the “top of the table clash” due to the proximity of the two teams at the apex of the league table standings and it does not disappoint.

The Banjulians set the ball rolling when they broke the deadlock in the 23rd minutes of the mouthwatering encounter. Momodou Salieu Jallow swoop in a ball pass the hapless Gunjur United goalie Dodou Jobe from Salieu Jallow’s pinpoint cross.
The Dabanani boys dominated the remaining minutes of the first stanza but they could not break a resolute Waa Banjul defence. Waa Banjul combative defender, Fallou Njie, poke the ball into the Gunjur United net just 10 minutes after the resumption from the break.
Waa Banjul flying wingback, Ebou Camara, swung in a free kick which Fallou poked in to increase the scoreline to 2-0 in the 55 minutes. Gunjur United, wing wizard Abubacarr Demba was sent off in the 59 minutes.
Demba was booked earlier for decent before the referee gave him, his matching orders for a second bookable offence. Gunjur United pulled one back after the 90 minutes mark but Dodou Demba strike could not provoke a comeback for the Dabanani boys.
