GUNJUR UNITED WERE HELD TO BARREN SCORELESS DRAW

Ten man Gunjur United were held to a goal less draw by former GFF league champions, Young Africans.

Dabanani boys, failed to capitalised on the chances they had created in the first half of the encounter and as a result the first half ended zero apiece. Aboubacar Demba, Malang Jassey, and Salifu Bojang all had their moments to gave Gunjur United the breakthrough they needed but they squandered all the opportunities they got.

Young Africans could not dream of a better second half than what they got. Just six minutes after recess, the central referee sent off Gunjur United striker Lamin Jallow for an an alleged foul on the Young Africans goalie Sulayman Joof.

From Jallow’s red card one could expect Young Africans to control the proceedings but that was never the case as the match becomes a see-saw affair between the sides. Both teams miss some good chances to break the deadlock but they could not.

Gunjur United are now level on points with Waa Banjul with 18 points apiece while Young Africans are with 11 points.
