ABDOU GOMEZ STRIKES SINK KIANG WEST

Abdou Gomez 9 minutes strike was all but enough to separate Lamin Village born coach, Yahya Manneh’s Brufut United angainst debutants Kiang West.

Abdou’s early goal was the was the difference as his side 1-0 victory over Kiang West, sink the Lower River Region (LRR) further down in the table standings. Brufut United, who played quarter of the second half with a man down, were still able to control Kiang West.

Yahya Manneh was understandable happy with his team victory and he believed the margin could’ve been bigger hadn’t been his side capitalised on their chances. “It unbelievable the kind of chances they missed today. Especially Mamadi Chorr but he is going to pay for that” “We looses our target in one part of the match.

Our tactics worked for us in the early parts of the match and we got our goal in that period. But from there we loose the redeem a bit because I can see some dizziness in our players but thank God that we won. “They have a numerical advantage and they were wise that they used the spaced well. Because we want to use the space before them but they were wise enough to used it before us.

Normally if you’re a man down or up you uses the space, so I commend their coaches for that.” Coach Yahya Manneh speaking. Karamo Darboe, the head coach of Kiang West football club blamed fate and inexperience for their recent defeats and struggles in the league in a post match interview.

“This is something we don’t expect but whatever God decide nobody can go against that. Though it is not our destiny because we’re try our best to eradicate our weaknesses and to strengthen our strong areas. We have have defeats in our last two matches against Gunjur at home and today against Brufut United.

“This is our first time participating in the National League and 95% of our players are all local players. They don’t have the experience but we’re working hard on our training ground to improve on our weaknesses.” Darboe, explained the reasons of their recent underperformance.
