GFF Media Release: CAF Throws Out Gambia’s Appeal Against Togo’s Adewale Oloufade

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) regrets to inform its stakeholders and the general public that it has on Monday 21st January, 2019 received a communication from the Confederation of African Football (CAF), dismissing our protest against the eligibility of player Mr.

Adewale Oloufade who played for Togo in the 1-1 draw with The Gambia in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers in Lome in October, last year.
According to CAF, in announcing its decision, the Togolese Football Federation was able to prove that Mr.

Oloufade was born in Togo and is indeed eligible to player for its national team but his double registration on the CMS was an administrative error.

In light of the above and based on the facts produced by CAF, the GFF further wishes to inform its stakeholders and the general public that it is currently seeking legal advice to enable us take a decision on our next action.
