Winger Haruna Saidy’s last grasped strike has earned Amina Gas the 2018-2019 Darboe Jula Real Estate Agency sponsored Sanyang nawettan league title.
They beat Young Boys Star 1-0 in a keenly-contested final played at the Sanyang football field on Sunday.
The Sanyang-based club dominated Young Boys Star in the first period and created various goal scoring chances but were wasteful in front of the goal post.
The Jambanjelly-based club, who were over-powered in the midfield, relied on counter attack but couldn’t penetrate Amina Gas’s formidable defence line, ending the first half in goalless stalemate.
Upon resumption of the game, Amina Gas continued their supremacy over Young Boys Star and secured numerous goal scoring chances. Their efforts paid dividend in the 79th minute of the match when winger Haruna Saidy netted the opener, which eventually proved to be a winner for Amina Gas after deadlock in the first period.
Young Boys Star re-acted for an equaliser but couldn’t break through Amina Gas’s solid defence line.
